Laszlo (aka Aaron Wheeler) is a composer / producer, multi-instrumentalist and founder of the 4-piece jazz funk fusion band, Lydian Collective

Aaron has released three albums under the name Laszlo, Radial Nerve (2011), Level Five Stage One (2013), and Cartoon Hero (2015). These releases have created an international following and have generated over 2 million Spotify streams, as well as hundreds of thousands of YouTube views and plays on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and Radio 3 - with support from tastemakers such as Giles Peterson, Nick Luscombe, Oliver Jones, and Tom Robinson.

Aaron started off his career as a media composer with over 700 production music tracks published with EMI / Sony ATV / Universal. After success in this area of the industry, he decided to set up and invest in a new label to release his own music on and in 2011 Lydian Label was created, under which he released music such as Laszlo, Musicbox (a collaboration with guitarist and composer Todd Baker) and Lydian Collective. In 2011, Aaron signed a deal to publish the Laszlo project with Mute Song.

In 2013, Aaron founded the band Lydian Collective with a view to perform the Laszlo compositions live. Since then, they have performed at venues such as Union Chapel, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Jazz Cafe and 606 Club and festivals such as, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Cambridge Jazz Festival and So What’s Next? Festival in the Netherlands.

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Aaron released the Press Start EP, which to date has amassed nearly 100,000 streams on Spotify alone.

His second EP - ‘Dreamscapes’ - released in 2021, with singles Kyoto Rain, Nagoya Moon, Longing and Frenetics taking quite a different stylistic approach to Press Start. Artwork by London-based illustrator/artist Adam Davies created an instantly striking aesthetic that effortlessly complemented music. The new EP was accompanied by official piano Sheet Music for each track, and the project racked up more than 500,000 streams on Spotify alone.

2023 will see a new EP - ‘Arising’ - release on KPM Shorts in September.
